AEW Dynamite
WWE Smackdown

This week, the ratings for all three WWE shows held steady while Dynamite's continued to increase even beyond last week's special Winter Is Coming episode. As a result, this latest episode of Dynamite garnered an impressive 51.0% larger audience than NXT, one of the largest gaps in viewership between the two shows. And as per usual, Dynamite scored a higher 18-49 demographics rating as well. Here are the details.

  • Even though Dynamite's "big episode" already came in the form of its Winter Is Coming show last week, this week's episode also contained some high profile moments. Not only was there excitement from the potentential cross-promotion storyline with Impact Wrestling, but AEW had announced the appearance of Sting and Shaquille O'Neal. And to AEW's credit, these moments brought big numbers for Dynamite. Already have scored high ratings last week, the AEW show was able to build on its audience even further, increasing its viewership from 913,000 last week to 995,000 this week. That's a big jump of 9.0%. As for the show's 18-49 demographics rating, it reached its highest value since October 2019. The rating went up from 0.42 last week to 0.45 this week, placing Dynamite in the #2 spot for that demographic among cable television for the night. For overall verwership, Dynamite came in at the #55 spot.

  • For NXT, this week was the fall-out episode after the promotion's War Games event this past weekend. That didn't affect the show's ratings much, however, compard to last week. The size of the audience pretty much remained the same, only increasing minimally from 658,000 viewers last week to 659,000 viewers this week. That's a tiny bump of 0.2%. The show's 18-49 demographics rating did improve by a slightly higher margin, increasing from 0.16 last week to 0.17 this week. Among cable television for the night, NXT came in at the #37 spot for the 18-49 demographic and #75 in overall viewership.

Like NXT, the size of Smackdown's and Raw's audience pretty much remain unchanged this week.

  • While NXT's ratings experienced a tiny increase this week, Smackdown's ratings experienced a tiny drop. The viewership fell from 2,141,000 last week to 2,130,000 this week, a small downturn of 0.5%. Meanwhile, the show's 18-49 demographics rating remained the same as last week's at 0.6. Among network television for the night, Smackdown tied for the #1 spot with Shark Tank in the 18-49 demographic and came in at the #8 spot in overall viewership.

  • Just like Smackdown, Raw's ratings declined slightly this week. The size of its audience fell by a tiny 0.2%, going down from 1,741,000 viewers last week to 1,736,667 viewers this week. The show's 18-49 demographics rating took a slightly bigger hit percentage-wise. It dropped from 0.53 last week to 0.51 this week. Among cable television for the night, Raw came in at #4 for the 18-49 demographic and #20 for overall viewership.

In the last two weeks, Dynamite's ratings have pulled away from those of NXT. At this rate, it may be possible that AEW can begin to reach over one million viewers on a regular basis. But then again, Dynamite's strong ratings during the past two weeks may have only been due to the appearance of big names like Sting and Shaq. And if that's the case, this hot streak may end soon. Even if that happens, though, it will be interesting to see if AEW can retain some of the larger audience that it was able to gain from these two weeks. Regardless, Dyanmite's win-loss record in the Wednesday Night Wars now stands at 47-10-1 for viewership and 57-1 for the 18-49 demographic. This makes NXT's record 10-47-1 for viewership and 1-57 for the 18-49 demographic.
