Due to Donald Trump's impeachment trial, viewers flocked to news programming on Wednesday. As a result, the ratings for both Dynamite and NXT fell significantly. With Dynamite being previously ahead in the ratings, this means that the AEW show once again came out ahead in the Wednesday Night Wars. This week, Dynamite garnered a 32.8% larger audience than NXT. And like last week, Dynamite's 18-49 demograhics rating ended up being more than twice that of NXT's. Here are the details.

  • Like with the past few weeks, Dynamite's ratings continued to yo-yo this week. Compared to last week's special Beach Break episode, the viewership dropped from 844,000 last week to 741,000 this week. That's a big decline of 12.2%. As for the 18-49 demograhics rating, it fell from 0.32 last week to 0.29 this week. Among cable television for the night, Dynamite came in at the #21 spot for the 18-49 demographic and the #68 spot for overall viewership.

  • Even though this was the go-home show before NXT TakeOver: Vengence Day, WWE's Wednesday night show took a big hit in the ratings this week. The size of NXT's audience went down by 8.5%, as it shrank from 610,000 viewers last week to 558,000 viewers this week. And perhaps more importantly, NXT's 18-49 demographics rating matched its all time low this week. It fell from 0.15 last week to 0.12 this week. NXT only reached such as low rating one other time at the end of 2020. Among cable television for the night, NXT came in at the #62 spot for the 18-49 demographic and the #83 spot for overall viewership.

Over on Monday and Friday night, both Raw and Smackdown saw a decline in the ratings.

  • For the second week in a row, there was a small decline in Smackdown's viewership. It fell from 2,304,000 last week to 2,257,000 viewers this week, a small decline of 2.0%. Strangely, however, Smackdown's 18-49 demographics rating went up despite the smaller audience. It rose from 0.62 last week to 0.65 this week. Among network television for the night, Smackdown came in at the #2 spot for the 18-49 demographic and the #8 spot for overall viewership.

  • This week, Raw saw a big drop in the ratings. The viewership went down from 1,892,333 last week to 1,715,000 this week. That's a big downturn of 9.4%. Similarly, the show's 18-49 demographics rating fell significantly, going from 0.58 last week to 0.49 this week. Even with this lower rating, though, Raw still scored the #1 spot for the 18-49 demographic among cable television for the night for the third week in a row. In regards to overall viewership, the show came in at the #19 spot.

With this week's victory, Dynamite just extended its winning streak in the Wednesday Night Wars to 11 weeks in a row. This makes the AEW's show win-loss record 56-10-1 for viewership and 66-1 for the 18-49 demographic. In turn, NXT's record now stands at 10-56-1 for viewership and 1-66 for the 18-49 demographic.
