AEW Dynamite
WWE Smackdown

For all intents and purposes, Dyanmite's ratings remained the same as last week's. So NXT picked a great week to garner a huge improvement in the ratings. However, the black and gold brand still fell short in overtaking the AEW show in the ratings. Comparing the two shows, Dynamite came away with a 4.8% larger audience than that of NXT's. Plus, as usual, Dynamite was able to score a notably higher 18-49 demographics rating. Here are the details.

  • The viewership for Dynamite practically remained unchanged from last week. Although it did technically increase, it only went up by 0.8% as the audience grew from 741,000 viewers last week to 747,000 viewers this week. On the other hand, the show's 18-49 demograhics rating did improve more significantly. It went up slightly from 0.29 last week to 0.31 this week. Among cable television for the night, Dynamite came in at the #4 spot for the 18-49 demographic.

  • As mentioned, this episode of NXT saw a huge spike in the ratings. It was the fall-out show after NXT TakeOver: Vengence Day this past weekend, and its viewership shot up from 558,000 last week to 713,000 this week. That's a giant leap of 27.8%. Similarly, NXT's 18-49 demographics rating went up quite a bit, improving from 0.12 last week to 0.16 this week. Among cable television for the night, NXT came in at the #39 spot for the 18-49 demographic.

As for WWE's other shows, Smackdown took a big hit in the ratings this week while Raw made a rebound from last week..

  • For the first time since August 2020, Smackdown's audience fell below 2 million viewers this week (excluding when the show aired on FS1). It slid from 2,257,000 last week to 1,990,000 viewers this week, a big drop of 11.8%. With a big downturn like that, it is not surprising that the 18-49 demographics rating fell significantly as well. It went down from 0.65 last week to 0.57 this week. Among network television for the night, Smackdown came in at the #3 spot for the 18-49 demographic and the #8 spot for overall viewership.

  • Last week, Raw's viewership was at its lowest level for 2021. Fortunately for WWE, the show made a comeback this week with a 5.6% larger audience. It grew from 1,715,000 viewers last week to 1,810,333 this week. Perecentage-wise, the show's 18-49 demographics rating made an even bigger recovery. It jumped from 0.49 last week to 0.57 this week. This means that for the fourth week in a row, Raw landed in the #1 spot for the 18-49 demographic among cable television for the night. As for overall viewership, the show came in at the #19 spot for the night.

This week's edition of the Wednesday Night Wars was close, at least in terms of the viewership. But regardless of the small margin, a win is still a win, which means Dynamite's winning streak now stands at 12 weeks in a row. Dynamite's win-loss record is now 57-10-1 for viewership and 67-1 for the 18-49 demographic. Conversely, NXT's record is now 10-57-1 for viewership and 1-67 for the 18-49 demographic.
